In general, we are unable to directly help with practical issues and instead advocacy or specialist support services can be more helpful.

In general, we are unable to directly help with practical issues and instead advocacy or specialist support services can be more helpful. If a service user is seeking help for a practical issue, it may be helpful to refer/signpost to local organisations that offer social prescribing support. They can offer support regarding housing, debt, social needs and work as examples. In Islington, AGE UK offer this support to residents aged 16+: Age UK Islington | About us and Help On Your Doorstep: Help on Your Doorstep

If they live in Camden, AGE UK offer this support to residents aged 16+: Welcome to Age UK Camden or you could make a self-referral to WISH Plus via the Camden Council website WISH Plus - Camden Council

You could also advise the service user to speak to their GP to explore options, and they can refer to a ‘Social Prescriber’- A social prescriber is a professional who helps residents access activities, groups, and services in their community to meet the practical, social, and emotional needs that affect their health and wellbeing.
