Assertiveness

When we struggle with low mood and/or anxiety, it can be hard to communicate our needs, opinions, and emotions effectively. This in turn can keep our low mood and/or anxiety going.

This workshop aims to help people:

    • Understand the difference between passive, assertive and aggressive communication & behaviour
    • Learn about your own style of relating to others
    • Learn practical techniques to be more assertive in everyday situations

Together we will learn how failure to be assertive affects us emotionally and physically, as well as the way it changes how we think and behave in different situations. You will learn a range of coping strategies to help improve your communication including;

    • General Assertiveness Techniques
    • Making Requests
    • Saying ‘NO’
    • Coping with Criticism
    • Accepting Compliments
